Around twenty thousand Bulgarians demonstrated their solidarity in Sofia with five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor sentenced to death in a Libyan case.

A major rally marking the eighth anniversary of their arrest under the slogan "You are not alone" passed along Sofia's central boulevards before an open-air prayer outside the Alexander Nevski Cathedral in the evening.

The demonstrators, estimated at about 20,000 people by the police, shouted "Freedom! Freedom!" under slogans reading "The whole world should see the truth," "Freedom," and "Innocent".

Six children of different religions - Christian Orthodox, Catholic, Muslim, Armenian, Jewish and Evangelist - pronounced the text of a mass prayer about the release of the six foreign medical workers before symbolically setting free six doves.

Where has my heart gone?

Nothing quite eases my heart as a noble display of volunteerism and public pro-action.

The more corrupt I see my government become, the more people I see resort to apathy and inaction, which only allows for more corruption. It's a snowball effect that must be broken.

My heart goes out to these people.

I think the way it is done is ugly. This is not an issue of nationality. It's not an issue of religion or any other kind of social belonging. The main course of the actions must be to ease the pain and the anger of the parents and relatives who lost their children. Politics and talks have already messed up. Why not make a human contact with those who grief and get lost through mass control, suffering, and inability to bring back their children their smiles their lives. Instead of hating we should turn the other cheek.

This is not about freeing the prisoners facing a death sentence or protecting the identity differences. It is about trying to be human beings.
